Fire response and evacuation exercises provide participants with practical skills that can be applied immediately and have received a lot of positive feedback from customers. Training based on a plan to operate in the event of a fire and where the knowledge described is practically usable is assessed and necessary to ensure safety.
Fire Safety Actsubsection 6 (3) obliges the owner who is required to submit a fire safety report and organise a fire safety inspection to organise an evacuation exercise and an exercise in action in the event of fire once a year. Within the framework of the exercise on evacuation and operation in the event of fire:
- Simulate a real fire;
- Practices are being practised to help cope with the threat.
Self-control of fire safety

The fire safety report of self-inspection shall be submitted with the data of the previous calendar year no later than 31. By March to the Rescue Board safety Portal for buildings where:
- kindergartens;
- schools;
- accommodation establishments;
- medical and welfare institutions;
- shopping centres;
- high-rise buildings;
- institutions providing vital or utility services;
- industrial and warehouse buildings of enterprises with major hazard and buildings with fire hazard classes 2 and 3 of dangerous enterprises with an area exceeding 1000 m ²;
- industrial and storage buildings of fire hazard classes 2 and 3 with a surface area exceeding 1000 m ², the utility network or processes of which are related to a dangerous or major-accident enterprise, with the exception of fruit dryers.
Approval of emergency plan

According to the Chemicals Act, an emergency plan is a mandatory document of a company with a major hazard and a dangerous enterprise.
Requirements for enterprise emergency plan are set out in the Minister of Economic Affairs and infrastructure01.03Regulation No 18 of 2016 'requirements for the mandatory documentation and preparation of dangerous and major-accident enterprise documents and information and notification to the public1'in § 5.
The Päästeamet shall approve the enterprise's emergency response plan.
