Fire curtains

A fire curtain or operated textile curtain (operable fabric curtain) is a door according to EN 16034. It is a door with a door sheet made of woven material or combined with other materials to form one or more fire compartments. The curtain structure includes a handle and/or guides that essentially act like a roulouse.
The area of use of fire curtains is very broad, but mostly used in different buildings such as:

  •  shopping centres and office buildings;
  • production buildings and warehouses;
  • parking facilities and technical premises;
  • public buildings and health facilities.

Fire curtains are a space-saving and efficient solution to limit the spread of fire, helping to ensure safe
evacuation and property protection.

We can find an appropriate technical solution after technical consultation and installation site surveying.  After the installation of curtains shall be carried out regularly by fire curtains, as by any other fire safety installation.

Description

Fire curtains can be classified on the basis of fire resistance properties:

  • Class E fire curtain that prevents the spread of flame and hot gases but does not limit heat radiation.
  • EW class fire curtain that prevents the spread of flame and hot gases and reduces heat radiation
    intensity to the specified level.
  • NO-class fire curtain that ensures full fire and heat insulation, thereby preventing flame, hot
    propagation of gases and heat radiation.

Certification and requirements
As from 1 January 2019, standard EN 16034 shall be deemed to be harmonised, meaning that all marketed
fire curtains shall bear the CE marking. CE marking confirms that the product has performance stability
a certificate certifying compliance with the standard and fire safety requirements.

According to Regulation No 17 of the Minister of the Interior, smoke retention class (SA or S200) is not necessary for fire curtains, unless
this is not required by the specific place of use.

Completeness
The flameguard systems fire curtain set consists of eight parts:
1. the control centre;
2. Tube engine;
3. protective housing;
4. pipe shaft;
5. driving lines;
6. fire resistant fabric;
7. the lower weight of the curtain;

  • manual restoration – the curtain remains in the operating position until the user presses a special button,
    which orders recovery.
  • automatic restoration – After the alarm system is restored, the curtain automatically enters standby mode
    back.

Installation methods
The curtain protective housing can be installed:

  • open up front
  • open on
  • hang in a suitable place using consoles.

It is possible to install the side wall:

  •  open up front
  • open on
  • dredging.

As requested by the client or architect, all metal parts can be coated with powder paint from the RAL catalog.
