Training in fire work

Fire works may be provided in Estonia as an economic activity by a person who holds a professional certificate or who has completed training in performing fire works and who holds a fire work certificate. The training shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the fire Safety Act. The purpose of fire work training is to ensure that the person performing the fire work has the knowledge and skills to perform safe fire work in order to prevent a fire and to act correctly in the event of a fire. The training day lasts 8 x 45 min for about 6 hours. A corresponding certificate shall be issued concerning the completion of the training. A fire certificate shall be valid for up to 5 years from the date of issue.  

As of 01.03.2021, only fire safety experts with professional certificates (level 5) or fire safety experts (level 6) who also has the relevant competence to conduct training. We recommend checking the trainer background www.kutsekoda.ee

  • gas welding and gas flame works; 
  • electric welding; 
  • cutting of metal with combustible liquid; 
  • cutting of metal with disc cutter; 
  • soldering with combustible liquid;

  • the use of a gas flame and a hot air blower; 
  • other activities involving the use of flames produce sparks or temperatures which may cause the surrounding combustible material to ignite, thereby creating a real fire hazard.

  • Fire extinguishing equipment at the place of fire work. 
  • The equipment presents risks and is used safely. 
  • Operation in case of fire 
  • Behavior in case of fire. 
  • Basic and safety rules for extinguishing a fire. 
  • Use of fire extinguishing equipment. 
  • Practical deletion exercise. 
  • Knowledge check e. test. 

 To complete the training and obtain a fire work certificate, the participant shall take a written test in which 70% of the responses must be correct.
