According to the Chemicals Act, an emergency plan is a mandatory document of a company with a major hazard and a dangerous enterprise.
Requirements for enterprise emergency plan are set out in the Minister of Economic Affairs and infrastructure01.0302.02.2016. a Regulation No 18 'requirements for mandatory documents of enterprises with dangerous and major hazards and their preparation and information to the public and notification of accidents1'in § 5.
The Päästeamet shall approve the enterprise's emergency response plan.

Expert assessment of heating systems

First, it provides the owner of the building with the necessary information on the safety of the use of fireplaces and explains whether a modification or repair of the heating system is necessary. Secondly, the expert assessment of the heating system is one of the many documents needed in the application process. Expert assessment of heating systems and heating fireplaces usually involves first checking of heating equipment and assessing the integrity thereof. In addition, the following aspects are also important:
- inspection of stacks;
- inspection of connecting flues;
- assessment of the conformity of the heating system with building requirements, including fire safety requirements;
- integrity of fire compartments;
- review of existing documentation of heating system.
Expert assessment should only be carried out on a valid basis chimney sweeper-master level 5, potter Master level 5, fire safety expert level 6 a person with professional qualifications.

Ventilation maintenance

Cleaning of ventilation systems is mandatory and according to EVS 812-2:2014 fire safety of construction works, the frequency of cleaning must be at least once a year, with maintenance intervals not exceeding 365 days. Ventilation ducts for professional kitchens must be cleaned according to the intensity of use:
- at least once a quarter if the equipment is used 12 h/day –16 h/day;
- at least once a half-yearly period if the equipment is used 6 h/day –12 h/day;
- at least once a year if the equipment is used 2 h/day -6 h/day.

The chimney sweep must be carried out by a qualified specialist who holds the relevant professional certificate. Chimney sweeps shall have at least level 4 or level 5 professional qualifications.
Fire and evacuation exercise

Fire response and evacuation exercises provide participants with practical skills that can be applied immediately and have received a lot of positive feedback from customers. Training based on a plan to operate in the event of a fire and where the knowledge described is practically usable is assessed and necessary to ensure safety.
Fire Safety Actsubsection 6 (3) obliges the owner who is required to submit a fire safety report and organise a fire safety inspection to organise an evacuation exercise and an exercise in action in the event of fire once a year. Self-control of fire safety

Fire safety guidance for employees

When starting work, all employees must undergo fire safety instruction. This includes knowledge of procedures necessary to prevent fire, evacuation plans, use of fire extinguishing equipment and safety rules. Many establishments have separate responsible persons who organise fire safety and ensure that all requirements are complied with. These individuals supervise staff, conduct regular exercises and prepare risk analyses. We train different organisations across Estonia and adjust the guidance according to the nature of the work. In manufacturing plants, for example, we focus more on machine and equipment safety, while in office buildings we emphasize behavior in case of evacuation and electrical safety. During the training, we can carry out practical exercises where employees can try using fire extinguishers and other tools in a controlled environment. In addition, we also offer online courses that allow flexible learning and knowledge updating on a regular basis.
